September 2007 - temporary public art
Mapping from Memory, Invasion Project, ‘Art at the Centre’ Queenborough, Swale Borough Council

During the Sea Sheppey Festival in Queenborough, which celebrates the Dutch Invasion of 1667, I was one of four Dutch artists creating a temporary public art work with the help of the public. The workshop Mapping from Memory invited the public to help construct a map of Sheppey and the Netherlands entirely from memory. The map was drawn on a huge blackboard, indicating places of importance to the locals and their lives. The artwork has been exhibited in the Castle Gallery for the month of October.
